|Such a sweet girl, Purty was afraid in the Stanislaus shelter and thus was going to be euthanized. We could see that she just needed out, and a chance. She has been doing great in a foster home, and is quite ready for her forever home!
FOSTER NOTES: Purty is a spunky, charming seven year old who likes to nap between hikes. She has slipped into our household with ease - no accidents, no bad behavior. A true lady. Exploring new worlds, she approaches each new experience with calm and curiosity.
Hiking with me and my senior Plott hound Henry in Redwood Park, sometimes a scent will draw her off path, but she has learned a reliable recall quickly.
Her manners are good - no counter surfing, chewing or disruptive barking. She is a quick study. Cute and calm, she loves walking in the neighborhood meeting new neighbors, human and canine. Her leash manners are impeccable.
I’ll let Purty tell you her story:
“Recently I bounced around a lot. I’ve had pups, a couple of litters, and been in shelters. All that inconsistency, activity and noise made me nervous and shy. Then i got to Milo and my new home. Peace, quiet, good food, consistency and my own comfy crate at night - life is great! I walk in the place around my house, I walk in the park - lots of new smells, people and dogs, and everyone’s friendly. My fellow canine is a little cranky, but he’s WAY older than me. I get exercise and lots of naps and I’m learning new things like ‘sit’ and ‘stay.’ My new human companion is lovely, but life would be perfect if I had my own person’s lap to sit in.”
