UPDATE: The Peanut needs a home! This sweet little monkey looks like a tabby in her photos, but she actually has some orange mixed into her coat as well, which looks beautiful with her green eyes! She is still very much a kitten, but this sweet little girl has been waiting for her forever home for far too long, and has just even lost a baby tooth. She is an extremely affectionate and loving little girl and we very much hope that she will not be passed over and spend her entire kitten hood and beyond waiting for a loving family of her own. She is a healthy and outgoing little girl, but she does still have lasting nerve damage and her family will need to continue stimulate her to go potty and we can not say if she will ever regain full control. This is TRULY very simple and barely takes any time , less than it would take to even scoop a cat box, AND as you can hold her right over the toilet, it would actually save you money on litter! If you have ever stimulated an orphaned pup or kitten to go potty, it is the exact same thing. We are so very thrilled that she is walking, running and climbing after her injury, and so hope that this one lasting issue will not cost her a lifetime of happiness in a home! If you would like to foster her initially to see if she could be a good fit and if you are up for giving her the help that she needs, please contact us and we would be happy to set up a meeting!

Original Bio: This pretty little lady has been through quite a bit in her very young life. "The Peanut" was born here in Mendocino county, and when she was only about 3-4wks old someone accidentally slammed a door that she was walking through, which left her paralyzed from the waste down. Rather than bring her to the vet, they were going to kill her themselves but luckily someone present stepped in and saved her life but she did not know how to care for her and contacted us to see if we could help rather than have her euthanized and as we have experience with animals with spinal injuries and paralysis, we agreed to save her. We are thrilled to report that The Peanut is now walking, running and even doing little jumps!

She is a bit wobbly, but is getting stronger all the time! Unfortunately the nerves are still healing which give her the cues of how to go potty, but she only needs to have someone wipe her with an Earth Bath cat wipe, and her normal functions kick in and she starts to go normally. It honestly only takes a few moments and this is even getting MUCH better and we have high hopes that with time she may not need the "nudge" a few times a day soon! If you would like to help, PLEASE contact us at sanctuary@milofoundation.org

   Breed: Siamese Mix
   Color:  Flame Point
   Gender: Female
Age: 1 yr. 7 mo.  Birthday: 7/2015 (est)
   Milo ID: 24745
   Current Location: Milo Point Richmond
Adoption return notes: "Ferris is outgoing and gregarious. Good with children. Has been around dogs and asserts herself as the boss. Will actively play with toys and people most of the time."

Ferris and her gal-pal, Sloan, have been returned to Milo due to unforeseeable circumstances. Ferris is the shining star, loving attention. Sometimes she can be demanding, but a lot of people love that in a cat. Due to her long hair, she will need an adopter committed to brushing out her fluffy coat to keep it mat-free. Ferris and Sloan are a bonded pair who must be adopted together. $250 adoption fee for the gorgeous duo.

   Age: 1 yr. 7 mo.  Birthday: 7/2015
   Milo ID: 24746

Adoption return notes: "Sloan is somewhat introverted. Generally shy when strangers are around. Stays to herself when the kids are active (three boys under 8 years old). Once the house quiets down she becomes very loving, jumps on known adults, and becomes incredibly affectionate."

Sloan and her gal-pal, Ferris, have been returned to Milo due to unforeseeable circumstances. Sloan is a cat that takes a while to warm up, but once she does, she is a doll. May be best in a home without young children as they seem to make her nervous. Due to her long hair, she will need an adopter committed to brushing out her fluffy coat to keep it mat-free. Sloan and Ferris are a bonded pair who must be adopted together. $250 fee for the gorgeous duo.
