either at our Sanctuary, in Foster Care or at MPR.

These animals are now more mature, issues have mellowed and they have love to give.

Featured Critter: DEXTER

Breed: Shepherd - Staffordshire Bull Terrier Mix  -  Gender: Male
Age: 3 yrs. 2 mo. (est), Milo ID: 28161
Current Location: MPR

DEXTER Meet Dexter!

Dexter is a playful, active fellow, engaging and super affectionate and silly. Dexter loves his people & ALL people- he makes friends very easily! He is a want-to-be lap dog, a lover and a leaner, and very affectionate. His "happy place" is with people, a real sweetheart! He probably would do best in a home without small animals or chickens.

Dexter is attentive, intelligent, responsive to training and wants to please. He would do best as the only dog in the household. He is dog selective, but when he meets the right dog, he loves to play. Does best with dogs his size and age. Not a dog park dog.

We think he will make an excellent family dog for any single adult, adult couple or family with children roughly 8 & older. He is crate trained and house trained, and has great recall once he knows you.

Meet your new best friend, Dexter, today at Milo Point Richmond!

Featured Critter: BAD BABY

Breed: Domestic Short Hair   -  Gender: Male
Age: 2 yrs. 3 mo. (est), Milo ID: 28142
Current Location: MPR

BAD BABY Sassy and Bad Baby came from the same home - big, sweet boys! These two were given up due to an abusive home situation and mom and daughter had to move away.... they also surrendered their beloved dog Bacon, who has been adopted!

the cats are shy and understandably confused and perhaps traumatized by the events thAt led them to Milo and of course they’re bewildered.... they are lovely cats though and we’d happily do a two for one adoption of them together. They deserve a quiet, loving home!

Featured Critter: DALLAS

Breed: Shih Tzu - Poodle Mix  -  Gender: Male
Age: 5 yrs. 7 mo. (est), Milo ID: 28089
Current Location: MPR

DALLAS Dallas is a super sweet boy with TONS of personality! He first arrived at Milo in 2016 after coming from a high kill shelter in Avenal. When he first arrived he was shy and reserved, but now that he's opened up and has built confidence he's ready for his perfect home.

Dallas can be wary of strangers at first. He prefers men over women but does have female staff he likes here at Milo. Dallas would do best in an adult only predictable home. Dallas’ initial wariness will need a patient owner who can provide him stability and routine showing him that everything is okay. Once he gains confidence, he loves to go on walks & hikes and allows himself to be rocked to sleep in your arms.

Dallas is not fond of loud noises or sudden movements. He is house-trained and rides well in a car. His BFF is staff member Alex. Come in and ask him about this little charmer today! See photos in for pics of how sweet he can be.

Featured Critter: STELLA

Breed: Maine Coon Mix  -  Gender: Female
Age: 3 yrs. 1 mo. (est), Milo ID: 27979
Current Location: Foster

BETTY & STELLA *Foster Notes* "I’ve had Stella and Betty for two weeks now and have seen that Stella is an engaged and curious cat. She loves to explore and investigate almost as much as she likes to lie on my chest, purring and receiving the adoration she knows she deserves. She is most interested in human connection, and like her sister, happily spends lots of time in laps and snuggling. Also like Betty, Stella is absolutely gorgeous and fluffy, and is endowed with both the softest fur I’ve ever petted and the most spectacular tail anywhere—it is mesmerizing.

She is personable, interested in life and her surroundings and very loving. She purrs quietly and settles into a lap with great relish, also enjoys tummy rubs and responds quickly to verbal engagement. Both of these cats listen carefully to people and seem to expect that good things come from doing so. Stella is the more typically cat-like of the two—more adventurous, lithe and playful. She is a beautiful cat who is also a lot of fun.

Both girls strike me as indoor cats, lovers of the good life. They clearly know how to behave and how to relate to the people in their lives so will easily fit themselves into a safe and comfortable home, just as they will make their way into your heart.

Stella and Betty are sisters and need to stay together. The changes in their lives have taken a toll and they are clearly wondering what comes next. Understandably. They like one another’s company and take a great deal of comfort in each other’s presence but each of them is independent and enjoys connecting with people very much."

These two sister's were just rescued from Modesto after their owner was no longer able to care for them. They have lived with a large dog with no problems and are good with kids. They are a bonded pair and would need to find a home together. These gorgeous, fluffy girls are fixed and ready to find their forever home!

Featured Critter: BETTY

Breed: Maine Coon Mix  -  Gender: Female
Age: 3 yrs. 1 mo. (est), Milo ID: 27978
Current Location: Foster

BETTY & STELLA *Foster Notes* "I’ve had Betty and Stella for two weeks now and can report that Betty is an extremely gentle and loving girl who enjoys lengthy tummy rubs and attention from her person. She (and her sister Stella) seem very people-oriented and love laps to loll in, long chin scratches, and being talked to. Betty is a big and magnificent girl with the most luxurious fur; she purrs quietly when petted and comes to seek that out.

She strikes me as an ideal companion for someone who likes the quiet, warm and steady company of a mature and well-adjusted cat. I see in her a loyal and extremely soothing friend for someone who can provide her with the same. She is helpful and accommodating when it comes to brushing, taking meds (for a cold she had) and is otherwise very well behaved and engaged one on one. As should be evident, she likes her food, and can be quite clear in stating her desires in this arena. A big plus, in my opinion: Betty is unlikely to get on your counters without a step stool. She is one of the sweetest cats I have ever known, and really -- an absolute dear!

As noted above, Betty and Stella are sisters and need to stay together. The changes in their lives have taken a toll and they are clearly wondering what comes next. Understandably. They like one another’s company and take a great deal of comfort in each other’s presence but each of them is independent and enjoys connecting with people very much."

They are a bonded pair and would need to find a home together. These gorgeous, fluffy girls are fixed and ready to find their forever home!

Featured Critter: BENNY

Breed: Rhodesian Ridgeback - Otterhound Mix  -  Gender: Male
Age: 1 yr. 11 mo. (est), Milo ID: 27305
Current Location: MPR

BENNY Benny is great with all ages of people and dogs. He passed his cat test here in Milo but dogs should always be monitored initially in the home with cats.

Benny can sit on command. He's fine eating around other dogs, does not bark, loves to run, likes napping and hanging out and loves playing in the water.

Benny would be best living with another playful, happy dog! He will thrive in an active home with someone who works from home or who has the time to and resources to provide doggie daycare and other activities when not at home. He lived at the Milo Sanctuary happily playing with other dogs for a few months.

****************

Lovely boy, an easy going charmer. Dog friendly, co-housed with and plays well with other dogs, big and small....good on leash, on the wide-eyed and meek side, but a happy, willing fellow eager to learn and to be loved! Athletic build, a great hiking and walking companion - likely up for a run as well!

Benny is a bit shy, but gently solicitous and interested in the world around him, and people, and dogs.... he has a pretty red sable coloring, big feet, and strong athletic build. More soon on Lucky Benny!

$450 adoption fee.

Featured Critter: SADIE

Breed: Border Collie Mix  -  Gender: Female
Age: 8 yrs. 5 mo. (est), Milo ID: 23970
Current Location: Sanctuary

SADIE *Foster Notes* 11/6/17 "Sadie is a loving girl. She can be protective, anxious at times when around new people and other dogs. Good spirited, will bark at people knocking on door, walking down stairs, and strangers. She does not bark aggressively and is super friendly up close."

Sadie is a sensitive lady.... protective and cautious. She is happiest when out playing fetch with a Frisbee or a ball - truly in her element. She is protective of her home and people.

More soon on this often charming but sometimes worried girl.

Featured Critter: RUTHIE

Breed: German Shepherd Dog Mix  -  Gender: Female
Age: 13 yrs. 6 mo. (est), Milo ID: 8868
Current Location: Sanctuary

RUTHIE Ruthie deserves a lovely retirement home, give a senior a chance!! Special Senior Sanctuary Dogs are available for a 100% negotiable/flexible adoption fee... a loving home is what they need and what we want for them!

At this point in her life Ruthie is a fairly mellow senior, a loving and happy girl, who gets along well with other dogs, although would prefer a male canine friend to live with if she had her pick. She is a lovely old dame and friendly if not a tad distracted, with most people right, but can bark at strangers upon first meeting through a fence. She is a loving, tail-wagging gal for whom we are looking for a loving, adult home (no young kids) with another canine companion if possible. With a good amount of people time she would do fine as an only dog.

Ruthie is the kind of dog that will bond and be a bit protective, we feel that now she is an older dog, she has mellowed and would not bond as severely and feel she needs to protect, which she has done in her colorful past! She has been co-housed at our sanctuary with various dogs and done well and for an old girl is still quite active and engaged - though her hearing is not so great now. She tolerates brushing happily, loves attention and going on easy walks, a great dog for a senior! She is a lovely gal who deserves to spend the rest of her life in the comfort of a loving home! And for a qualified senior Ruthie's adoption fee can be waived.
