Featured Critter: MARGO

Breed: Belgian Shepherd Malinois Mix  -  Gender: Female
Age: 3 mos. (est), Milo ID: 28499
Current Location: Foster

MAYA PUP FOUR One of the six Maya pups...Margot is a smart, active, demanding pup! Margo is the most hard core girl, but also super sweet, here’s her recent foster report: 1/31/19 "Very smart dog. Needs a strong leader/ family who can train/ guide her with love and firm leadership. She shouldn't be placed or fostered in a home with small children until she is trained - we enjoyed her!"

These are Working dogs, demanding dogs! She will need a job, and certainly daily stimulation and learning new things will be of ongoing importance for Margo to grow up to be the great dog she is destined to be. These pups need daily challenges, stimulation, problem solving, agility, physical abilities and mental challenges to conquer!

As well Margo is Mama Maya’s favorite and would love a home with her, as would Maya who is a fantastic dog who needs someone to watch over and ground her.

Please ask if you would like to meet them both!! Adoption fee combined for them can be negotiated no problem! Margo $500 adoption fee.

E-mail us at info@milofoundation.org

Featured Critter: FRED

Breed: Domestic Short Hair   -  Gender: Male
Age: 6 yrs. 2 mo. (est), Milo ID: 28427
Current Location: Foster

FRED Fred is a people oriented little man who is also cat friendly and dog friendly.

He can be shy at first but once he gets to know you, he is very affectionate and loving. He would be happy sitting in your lap all day because he loves to snuggle, be held and get pets.

Fred is gentle, quiet and calm and would love a gentle, quiet and calm home to call his own.

Fred’s Foster : A Little More About Fred He really is such a sweet, love bug kitty. He loves attention and affection and will rub up against you with a little head butt and roll on his belly asking for you to rub it. And sleep next to you in bed.

He is definitely more of a cuddly than a playful cat, but that being said he has a good amount of energy. He really liked running around the house chasing a mouse toy.

He is very gentle and can be a little shy at first, but even after just 3 days at my house he starting getting really comfortable - and warmed up pretty quickly!

Fred just had considerable dental work to ensure he was all ready for adoption. He has a clean bill of health from the vet, but any extra contribution you may be able to make towards his medical bills when he is adopted are appreciated.

E-mail us at info@milofoundation.org

Rescued from Chico to make room for fire victims....Cowboy is a big goofball! He is high energy and the life of the party. He is happy, friendly and loves to play. He can jump, so yards with high fences are a must. Cowboy is not cat friendly so non-cat households only.

Cowboy is looking for an active, adventurous family who can take him to training classes and provide a lot of activity and fun! Due to his high energy, he would do best in a home with kids over 10 and no cats.

Featured Critter: SONIC

Breed: Labrador Retriever Mix  -  Gender: Male
Age: 4 yrs. 5 mo. (est), Milo ID: 28354
Current Location: MPR

SONIC $214 special adoption fee.

Sonic is a beautiful Labby boy, who now has a short tail - he broke his tail by wagging it so much - but he is still a happy boy! Sonic is super! He is super friendly and loves hiking. He does have lots of energy and also can be mouthy in play, so would do best in a home with experienced dog owners and will need to go to a home without young children. Sonic is not cat friendly, he has a hunting dog personality, so, non cat households only.

He would greatly benefit from more training and socialization. His ideal home would be outside of city environments since he is reactive on leash. Stop by to meet this outgoing boy.

Featured Critter: MONTY

Breed: Labrador Retriever - American Staffordshire Terrier Mix  -  Gender: Male
Age: 2 yrs. 1 mo. (est), Milo ID: 28139
Current Location: MPR

MONTEREY JACK

Monty is super sweet!!! He is young, agile, enthusiastic, happy and energetic boy. He is handsome and strong and ready for an active life full of adventures, a great hiking companion, a beach going buddy, an all around outdoor enthusiast.

Monty loves belly rubs and climbing on your lap for a good cuddle - though he's way too big for that. Where there's a lap there's a way. Monty has played well with dogs his size, both male and female and likes younger dogs with puppy energy in particular. Monty likes to play fetch and Frisbee.

Not always as energetic as he first seems in the kennel environment at Milo, he does chill out after a good romp, he settles down and likes to hang out with people and get and give loving. Come in soon to meet him and to get to know this sweet lover-boy!

Featured Critter: DALLAS

Breed: Shih Tzu - Poodle Mix  -  Gender: Male
Age: 5 yrs. 11 mo. (est), Milo ID: 28089
Current Location: MPR

DALLAS Dallas is a super sweet boy with TONS of personality! He first arrived at Milo in 2016 after coming from a high kill shelter in Avenal. When he first arrived he was shy and reserved, but now that he's opened up and has built confidence he's ready for his perfect home.

Dallas can be wary of strangers at first. He prefers men over women but does have female staff he likes here at Milo. Dallas would do best in an adult only predictable home. Dallas’ initial wariness will need a patient owner who can provide him stability and routine showing him that everything is okay. Once he gains confidence, he loves to go on walks & hikes and allows himself to be rocked to sleep in your arms.

Dallas is not fond of loud noises or sudden movements. He is house-trained and rides well in a car. His BFF is staff member Alex. Come in and ask him about this little charmer today! See photos in for pics of how sweet he can be.

Featured Critter: ROVER

Breed: Labrador Retriever Mix  -  Gender: Male
Age: 3 yrs. 5 mo. (est), Milo ID: 28081
Current Location: MPR

ROVER Rover is the Life of the Party! And he is on our Big Boy Special $214 adoption fee through Valentines Day.... Rover is someone to LOVE!

He is a happy, affectionate and loving dog who loves his belly rubs. He’s a friendly tail wager who likes to stick close to his people.

Rover is a high-energy dog who loves to run and needs lots of exercise and mental stimulation. Think agility training! He’s made friends with other dogs while here so play dates are a plus for him. He likes chew toys, squeaky toys and balls but like most labs he loves to chew them.

He will need some training since he can be puppy like in play and is jumpy with excitement when meeting new people. Rover is a hunting stock kind of Lab mix with prey drive so No Cats in the home for him. He’s lanky and energetic - he needs space and adventures!

This boy will make an excellent dog for outdoorsy folks & families who have the time and sense of adventure to go on long hikes, to do some training and recall work - he'll likely be really good and he does want to please - but he needs an outlet for his enthusiasm! $300 adoption fee !

Featured Critter: BENNY

Breed: Rhodesian Ridgeback - Otterhound Mix  -  Gender: Male
Age: 2 yrs. 3 mo. (est), Milo ID: 27305
Current Location: Sanctuary

BENNY Benny is great with all ages of people and dogs. He passed his cat test here in Milo but dogs should always be monitored initially in the home with cats.

Benny can sit on command. He's fine eating around other dogs, does not bark, loves to run, likes napping and hanging out and loves playing in the water.

Benny would be best living with another playful, happy dog! He will thrive in an active home with someone who works from home or who has the time to and resources to provide doggie daycare and other activities when not at home. He lived at the Milo Sanctuary happily playing with other dogs for a few months.

****************

Lovely boy, an easy going charmer. Dog friendly, co-housed with and plays well with other dogs, big and small....good on leash, on the wide-eyed and meek side, but a happy, willing fellow eager to learn and to be loved! Athletic build, a great hiking and walking companion - likely up for a run as well!

Benny is a bit shy, but gently solicitous and interested in the world around him, and people, and dogs.... he has a pretty red sable coloring, big feet, and strong athletic build. More soon on Lucky Benny!

$450 adoption fee.

Sadie is a sensitive lady.... protective and cautious. She is happiest when out playing fetch with a Frisbee or a ball - truly in her element. She is protective of her home and people.

Featured Critter: RUTHIE

Breed: German Shepherd Dog Mix  -  Gender: Female
Age: 13 yrs. 10 mo. (est), Milo ID: 8868
Current Location: Sanctuary

RUTHIE Ruthie deserves a lovely retirement home, give a senior a chance!! Special Senior Sanctuary Dogs are available for a 100% negotiable/flexible adoption fee... a loving home is what they need and what we want for them!

At this point in her life Ruthie is a fairly mellow senior, a loving and happy girl, who gets along well with other dogs, although would prefer a male canine friend to live with if she had her pick. She is a lovely old dame and friendly if not a tad distracted, with most people right, but can bark at strangers upon first meeting through a fence. She is a loving, tail-wagging gal for whom we are looking for a loving, adult home (no young kids) with another canine companion if possible. With a good amount of people time she would do fine as an only dog.

Ruthie is the kind of dog that will bond and be a bit protective, we feel that now she is an older dog, she has mellowed and would not bond as severely and feel she needs to protect, which she has done in her colorful past! She has been co-housed at our sanctuary with various dogs and done well and for an old girl is still quite active and engaged - though her hearing is not so great now. She tolerates brushing happily, loves attention and going on easy walks, a great dog for a senior! She is a lovely gal who deserves to spend the rest of her life in the comfort of a loving home! And for a qualified senior Ruthie's adoption fee can be waived.
