BONITA 1/2 OFF ADOPTION FEE ON BONITA FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST !

Chiquita Bonita ! Bonita has the personality of a roadside diner waitress: tough, no-nonsense, and not in the mood to put up with anyone's garbage. At seven years old she's one of the older dogs at Milo, but this has never stopped Bonita from keeping the other Milo dogs in line, big or small. Despite her bossy ways around other dogs, Bonita is an affectionate love bug toward people. She still has the playful energy of a puppy and loves to find laps to cuddle on.

*Foster Notes* 2/14/17 "I love this Bonita! She's tough on the outside and sweet on the inside. She made me work a little for her trust at the beginning, but it's well worth it! Loves her belly rubbed. Loves to go for card rides, walks and hikes–she's game for whatever you want to do–I've taken her on my sea kayak! Great off leash recall and about checking in. When she's on leash she will bark at other dogs and pull but can be distracted by treats. We've been working on that, and I try to pay attention and watch for other dogs walking and if I distract her with treats, she's ok. She will bark when someone comes to the door but responds to "ok, that's enough," and it's not constant. She really wants to please and listens well. She's a good sleeper and curls up on the bed or under the covers if it's cold. She's fine with my cat. She was very interested at the beginning and followed him around, a bit intensely, but she ignores him now. Both my two small dogs, cat, and Bonita sleep on the bed with me. She learned the dog door the first day I had her and goes in and out when needed. She's not a dog for a family with little kids because she doesn't like to be scooped up out of nowhere and held, and she can be mouthy when excited. I give her a 1-2-3 up and she's good. She's been fine when I've introduce her to kids on walks, I've had them give her treats and she sits nicely. I've given her baths and cut her toenails and she's good. She has some fun playfulness and enjoys chasing toys and playing tug. She would love to be someone's one and only! I'm happy to meet with anyone interested."

*Owner Return Notes* 9/11/15 "Bonita is a great family dog. She is a seven year old rescue dog that is likely part pug and part chi. She is potty trained."

Featured Critter: PEPPER

Breed: Australian Shepherd - Spaniel Mix  -  Gender: Female  -  Age: 5 yrs. 4 mo. (est)  -  Milo ID: 22016

BABY GIRL now CRICKET 1/2 OFF ADOPTION FEE ON CRICKET FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST !

Cricket has been returned because she would like a home with no small children.

*Foster Notes* 8/1/17 "Pepper is very loving and energetic, but gets anxious in new situations. She loves getting pet, especially behind the ears and on her belly! She wants to be with people but is not too clingy, and is more than happy to hang out in her crate if needed. She obeys limits once she understands what you want (no jumping on the couch etc.). She is house trained and has good recall and will sit on command! She is treat motivated and eager to please. She has a happy puppy energy, and is up for whatever you want to do with her! She would benefit from daily walks and playtime to keep her calm .

I have been fostering her for almost 2 years, but due to a medical condition am unable to provide her with the time and energy she needs. She still suffers from anxiety and occasionally submissive pees if she is frightened or upset. She also can get into the trash and chew things due to separation anxiety. She needs someone to help her get over her anxiety with other dogs, cats, and children, as she shows signs of aggression towards them. With someone who has the time and patience , she is trainable and will learn quickly. "

*Foster Report* 9/20/15 "Cricket is adorable, affectionate, and loves to go on long walks, sniffing her way along. She might also enjoy some light jogging. She is very loving, but gets a little anxious in new situations. She loves getting pet, especially behind the ears and on her belly! She wants to be with people but is not too clingy, and is more than happy to hang out in her crate if needed. She doesn't chew things, and obeys limits once she understands what you want (no jumping on the couch etc.). She is house trained and has good recall and will sit on command! She is treat motivated and eager to please. She is not hyper, but has a happy puppy energy, and is up for whatever you want to do with her!

I have been fostering her, but due to a medical condition am unable to provide her with the time and energy she needs. She still suffers from anxiety and occasionally submissive pees if she is frighted or upset. She needs someone to help her get over her anxiety with other dogs, cats, and children. With someone who has the time she is very trainable and will learn quickly."

*Return Notes* 7/20/15 "Very calm when home, away from children, house broken, very trainable and treat motivated. Can sit, down, stay, come. Very high prey drive towards cats. Got along great with second dog in house who was introduced as a puppy."
