Breed: Labrador Retriever - Am. Staff. Terrier Mix Gender: Male Age: 3 yrs. 11 mo. Birthday: 6/2004 (est) Weight: Medium (30 - 60 pounds) Adoption Pending! Milo ID: 9522 Current Location: The Milo Sanctuary |
| Sweet natured, smiley boy! HE loves people and other dogs - happy-go-lucky play boy!!! He turned up at a neighbors house near the sanctuary . . . and then came to Milo and the staff found him very appealing and hoped we could keep him and find him a home! The last thing the Mendocino County Shelter - or any shelter needs - is another Pit mix! So we are looking for a loving home for this fine, happy fellow.
Ringo has a very Lab-like temperament - playful and happy with everyone, he is a nice dog looking for a NICE permanent, loving home! |

Breed: Australian Shepherd Mix Gender: Male Age: 6 yrs. 2 mo. Birthday: 3/2002 (est) Weight: Medium (30 - 60 pounds) Milo ID: 9058 Current Location: The Milo Sanctuary |
| DARWIN originates in rescue as a stray at the Fremont shelter. He is really drawn to men, and he is obsessive about big trucks, so clearly was once a guy's buddy dog - or truck guard dog . . . a guy's guy!
He is a handsome silver boy . . . He loves people, but prefers not to be around cats. He'd do great in the country, but probably not an urban environment. |
Name: JASPAR

Breed: Australian Cattle Dog Gender: Male Age: 5 yrs. 1 mo. Birthday: 4/2003 (est) Weight: Medium (30 - 60 pounds) Milo ID: 7624 Current Location: The Milo Sanctuary |
| JASPAR is smart, attentive, loyal, and active! He would do best with cattle dog savvy people, activity, and a lap if he can get one!!! Jaspar came to us from Eureka via Fort Bragg - he had been left with his buddy "Sarge" at a home in Eureka when their people moved out. Both are intelligent and affectionate dogs - Jaspar is the more typical cattle dog, demanding and persistent, responsive and reactive - smart and agile - top dog kind of guy. Jaspar can be mouthy and jumpy, so he would do best in a home with older kids. Due to his prey instincts, he would be best without cats. He does seem to do will with other dogs, but can be dominant. Jaspar easily backs off when reminded of his place by another dog or person. He will flourish under training and persistence and be an excellent running partner, hiking buddy, or beach companion. |
Name: BONITA aka Jaina

Breed: Labrador Retriever - Border Collie Mix Gender: Female Age: 3 yrs. 8 mo. Birthday: 8/2004 (est) Weight: Medium (30 - 60 pounds) Milo ID: 7420 Current Location: The Milo Sanctuary |
| At the Milo sanctuary.
BONITA is an active, good natured, athletic and happy young dog - as a pup, she was a bit mouthy and assertive in play, but she has grown up and she gets along well with other dogs, and loves most all people. She needs an active lifestyle- would do great with a runner or hiker. She's very friendly and loves to play ball . . . LOVES it!
Bonita has exhibited some protective, guarding issues - she has space/barrier aggressiveness, when she is in a crate for example - mostly it is show, but she is a protector of her home. She would do very well with some extra love and training. |
Name: SNOOP

Breed: German Shepherd - Golden Retriever Mix Gender: Female Age: 9 yrs. 3 mo. Birthday: 2/1999 (est) Weight: Large (60 - 90 pounds) Milo ID: 3457 Current Location: The Milo Sanctuary |
| SNOOP is a pretty, golden colored Shepherd girl with black tipping/markings. Snoop is well behaved... sits for her food, listens carefully to commands, loves attention and is always playful. She shares a large pen deep in the woods with 3 other dogs. She loves to eat and loves treats, so, if overfed, she gains weight easily. She is active and would love an owner that is interested in long walks/hikes. She will require some leash training as she is always free in the run, and we don't have enough man power to take her for many walks.
Overall a great dog that will reward you with a life time of loyalty. She is very people oriented, but not good with all dogs and has some food guarding issues. She is a bit uncertain when meeting assertive or overly friendly "in her face" kinds of dogs, but soon is playing and romping with the best of them! Her only real issue is that she will hurt a cat if given the opportunity.
Notes from her stay at the SF SPCA: "She is a sweet older dog that would do best in a quieter, less active home with older or no children, and was okay with most dogs here. She isn't crazy about pushy adolescent dogs, but likes more mellow seniors like herself."

Breed: Dalmatian Mix Gender: Male Age: 8 yrs. 1 mo. Birthday: 3/2000 (est) Weight: Medium (30 - 60 pounds) Milo ID: 3109 Current Location: The Milo Sanctuary |
| At the Milo sanctuary.
Pebbles is a large Dalmation mix who is anxious to please. Pebbles is a good boy! Eager, affectionate and willing! Pebbles loves kids and people of all kinds, he is active and exuberant.
He doesn't have a lot of formal training but is responsive and tries hard to please! Happy is a word that describes him - especially if he is with someone who adores him!
Pebbles gets along well with most all other dogs, but can be a bit posessive of his food around other dogs, but not too bad-he just has a hearty appetite!.
He loves people and desperately wants to belong to someone. He has spent five years (!!) up at the Milo sanctuary! |
