Weight: Medium (30 - 60 pounds)
Milo ID: 14411

Terrific pup rescued from Lake County - currently at our sanctuary. She is an active girl!

Puppies are a big commitment, they need training, time, patience, resources, love and care and more training! Please make sure you think long and hard about your lifestyle and ability to make the important commitment to the lifetime care for a puppy/dog. For larger breed pups it is extra important to get them into training soon, so that they are listening to you (and your family members) and learning appropriate behaviors before they are hard to control. If you truly are ready, please send in an application!

Dingo is currently living at our sanctuary near Willits, CA.

Former foster dad: "Dingo was rescued from the City of Sacramento animal shelter, where he was surrendered by his guardian, and scheduled to be euthanized at the end of June. Since then, Dingo has been fostered with 5-6 other dogs, and is manageable, but being typical Cattledog, he can be possessive/protective of his guardian. He has snapped at the other dogs when they invade his space as he lies at my feet, or on the floor next to the bed. Dingo lost his right eye supposedly from an infection when he was 10 months old, but has adapted fine as a one-eyed dog. He is very treat aggressive, but when reprimanded will calm down, sit, and work a closed fist to get the treat. Here's is an excerpt from Dingo's previous bio done by his previous guardian.

"He is housebroken and has been to obedience training - knows how to sit, stay, come... He likes to play fetch and has been trained to look for his favorite toy no matter where you hide it. He is a real people person and is happy to just lie at your feet. He doesn't like the leash and is nervous in the front yard, although he is very good at staying with you or coming back when off the leash. He doesn't get along with my older head strong dog, which is why I am looking for a home for him. He is very sweet, and I think he will do well in a home without another strong willed dog."

Even though his previous guardian claims he went to obedience school, Dingo could use continuation school or a refresher course. This sweet and affectionate guy would make a good candidate, as he is very responsive, attentive, and wanting to please. I would strongly recommend that Dingo be adopted by someone who knows Cattledogs, and has had some previous experience in working with the breed. He definitely needs to know his boundaries and have limits set for him. Again, with training and positive reinforcement, along with love, Dingo has the potential to become an outstanding companion to someone willing to make the commitment."

Breed: Australian Cattle Dog Mix
Gender: Female
Age: 9 yrs. 10 mo.  Birthday: 11/2000 (est)
Weight: Medium (30 - 60 pounds)

Current Location: The Milo Sanctuary
Diamond is a lovely little dog who is very friendly and submissive with people. And although she spent most of her life confined in a back yard with little or no contact with other dogs she is doing very well learning her proper doggy etiquette. We are still working on sharing but we feel she could adjust well to living with a dog her size or larger. She is still confused by and uncomfortable with the little dogs. We were told that she was a 10 year old cattle dog but she appears younger and looks to be a mix with something like an American Eskimo or Husky. Diamond is house trained and knows her basic commands. She really is an exceptional little lady.

Happy-go-lucky, easy-going gal! Nice companion dog who clearly has had some rough and tumble times in her past! She has a torn ear (healed up, old injury) and a few injuries healing up - and her back leg was broken at the "ankle" at some point... but this girl, Pearl is a trooper! She gets along beautifully with everyone, including cats! She is housetrained and mellow, a real delight.
