The
next Volunteer Weekend up at the Milo Sanctuary will be May 10-11th.
Please email the sanctuary at sanctuary@milofoundation.org
for more information on how to register.
At the Sanctuary:
Join us for a volunteer weekend up at the
Milo Animal Sanctuary in Mendocino County. The sanctuary has 283
beautiful acres and there are more than 200 animals (dogs and cats) who
live there at any given time. We started monthly volunteer weekends in the fall of 2007 and will continue hosting throughout 2008.
Please be ready to roll up your sleeves and pitch in. You may get hot,
you will get dirty. But it's lots of fun, too. There will be time to
socialize with the animals and walk dogs, too.
We usually work from 10-6 on Saturday and 8-4 on Sunday. The
Sanctuary is about 2.5 hours from Marin or 3 from San Francisco/East Bay. It is a beautiful time of the year to visit -- and help! Please
see www.milosanctuary.org and click on volunteer for more information. In the Bay Area:
Foster a dog, puppy, cat or kitten: Many dogs and cats simply need more one on one people time and routine. Dog savvy people with fenced yards and the time to devote to an additional pet would really be helping a long-term Milo dog by fostering for a month or so - and getting the dog primed for "real Life"; a home, and a family! Foster homes are needed for cats, dogs, kittens, and puppies. If you can help by fostering an animal, please let us know.
Help at the Milo Marin office:
Once we open our San Rafael office, we will need volunteers to help with animal care. In the meantime, you can help in the office with answering phones, emails, and other administrative tasks. We also need help with our website.
