Recent Adoptions

Rescue – Adoption – Sanctuary

With the changing COVID landscape, we are updating our visiting protocols.

If you are interested in adopting please start by completing a pet adoption application. Staff will review your application and get back to you as soon as possible, and you can schedule an appointment, often on the same day.

We will welcome one approved adoption group for dogs as well as possible cat adopters inside the adoption center at a time.  For the safety of our staff, volunteers and all our guests, we are still requiring that masks be worn inside.

While those with previously scheduled appointments will have priority, other aspiring adopters are now welcome to come to Milo Point Richmond during open hours, sign up on our “Drop-in” list, and we will introduce you to animals of interest as soon as possible. It will be most helpful if you complete an adoption application before you come by, and if you can print it and bring it with you, that will further facilitate the smoothness of your visit. We appreciate your patience and thank you for adopting a homeless pet!

The Milo Foundation is an established 501(c)(3) non-profit, no-kill organization providing a second chance for homeless pets throughout California.

We rescue dogs and cats from high-kill animal shelters and adopt them to loving homes best suited to provide lifetime care. We offer sanctuary to those pets that are not ready for adoption and educate the public about responsible pet guardianship, including spay/neuter.

Our pet adoption program adopts out approximately 1,500 dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens each year! We could not do this without your generous donations and volunteer hours. Thank you for your continued support of the animals at the Milo Foundation.

Her Leg is Broken, but Her Spirit is Not

It’s never easy to see an animal in pain or ill. It’s very hard to see it in a dog like Brandy. Brandy is a perfectly sweet, beautiful Brittany Spaniel mix who melts your heart. Brandy came to us from a small rural shelter in the Central Valley. She arrived at the shelter with a […]

Our Sanctuary

Milo Sanctuary for Dogs and Cats

The Milo Sanctuary is home to approximately 200+ animals at any given time, mostly dogs and cats whom need time for rehabilitation or socialization, but also a variety of farm animals. The Sanctuary is located on 283 acres in Mendocino County, offering lots of room for rescued animals to run and play.

Our Sanctuary animals are often with us for long periods of time. Your financial support will help a Sanctuary animal thrive. Sponsor an animal, or if you can’t decide, support the Sanctuary. Donate today!
