   Breed: Wirehaired Terrier Mix
   Gender: Female
Age: 7 yrs. 2 mo.  Birthday: 1/2013 (est)
Weight: Small (less than 30 pounds)
   Milo ID: 30307
   Current Location: Milo Point Richmond
Foster feedback: "Meet Millie & Tillie!

The cutest little daughter and mom duo! After a week’s fostering, they have really come into their own, just two good little girls wanting to be pet, have a warm lap…basically, just to be loved. They love their walks, naps, breakfast/dinner time and they are just getting prettier every day!

They are good by themselves but won’t turn down a chance to snuggle with you! They like like their crate, bed (or, your bed if you let them!) and would probably love access to a secure outside garden or deck to facilitate taking ‘care of business’ or to sun themselves.

Tillie is potty trained to go outside, Millie will get there but is reliable on pee pads – a consistent home environment and treats (of course!) will get her going outside. Tillie will bark a tiny little bit initially but has also shown that in a stable environment, this also will be a thing of the past.....cartoons (or walking away) will do the trick!"

------------------

Millie has the cutest scruffy tan coat, big black eyes and expressive pointy ears. **Millie says our coats have been groomed and we look much better than our pictures!** She and Tillie are a little vocal when they first meet you but after they get to know you it’s all tail wagging and wiggly butt. Millie doesn’t soil her kennel which may be an indication that she’s have potty training. They are both great with other dogs their size.

Millie and Tillie will love to hang with you watching movies, going for a leisurely walk, and getting lots of tummy rubs.

$300 individually, $350 for the pair together!

   Breed: Siberian Husky
   Gender: Male
Age: 2 yrs. 3 mo.  Birthday: 12/2017 (est)
   Weight: Medium (30 - 60 pounds)
   Milo ID: 30161
   Current Location: Milo Point Richmond
Meet Boomer!

Boomer's sweet and good with other dogs. He is a typical Husky who will need to go to an active home that will provide him with the stimulation he needs, and he can use some leash training. Best home setting for Boomer will be one with another playful dog--since these guys do better in a pack--a well fenced yard, perhaps teenage kids and of course fencing that is at least 6ft high.

Milo Foundation's Adoption Contract offers a 10-day built in fostering period on adult animals (over ten months age) where adopters can spend time getting to know their newly adopted pet and determine how it feels to share their home with this new dog or cat. During this 10-day period, adopters are welcome to take their new animal to be evaluated by professionals in the field or seen by their veterinarian. If you determine it is not a good fit and we cannot help you make it work; the animal can be returned for a refund minus a $50 admin fee. Boomer comes with a 20 day get acquainted period with his adoption, time to adjust to his new surroundings. Please give time and patience to new adoptees, particularly dogs from the Milo Sanctuary.

Hanna is a gorgeous smaller sized GSD. She has been loosening up at our Sanctuary getting used to the company of other dogs, running and playing and letting her confidence build. She ideally needs German Shepherd savvy folks, a good yard and another dog to continue to blossom. She loves people, and is ready to learn more about being a good dog in a great home!

   Milo ID: 29980
   Current Location: Milo Point Richmond
1/23/20- Foster Notes:
We currently have had Mimi and judo for about 3 weeks and so far they have been wonderful. We were a little hesitant about fostering two dogs that were big but having them around seems easier than when we foster one dog. These two are the sweetest dogs you’ll ever meet. All they want to do is cuddle and just want to be shown love and affection. Both dogs are extremely intelligent and know how to sit. Mimi knows how to lay down and shake as well. We have a cat as well and they are interested in them but also scared. We would recommend though that whomever adopts Mimi and Judo have a backyard even if not massive. Just something for them to trot around and play in.

No other dogs in the home.

MIMI and JUDO would love to continue to live together - somewhere with Husky savvy, loving folks with the time and the fencing to keep them safe and contained, loved and exercised. A happy, social, and affectionate husky pair of rascals! They are both friendly, laid-back and affectionate. They're great even in chaotic situations with lots of people around-- they maintain their calm and look to you for guidance. They jump up occasionally but are very responsive to correction. They are adorable and ready for a home! Adoption fee $800 for the pair.

One note of caution is that they resource guard with other dogs. Mostly they resource guard food, sometimes they get jealous about affection. They haven't broken skin but Theo definitely got roughed up. They haven't showed any food aggression towards humans.

Scout is an active dog, but not hyper, she's athletic and leans towards alpha but mostly just the kind of girl likes feels like she should be in charge. She is smart and pro-active. Eger to participate and ready to roll, she can also be cuddly.

Strong, athletic, clever amounts to a dog that needs a dog-savvy person who will include her in a lot of daily activities and provide leadership and consistency! A very cool dog.

Keys! A most handsome boy looking for his forever home. A very nice medium (~50 pounds) size - hardy, athletic, agile and grounded boy.

No other dogs in the home.

Foster Feedback: “Keys played well with my small dog and learned Sit, Shake, Down and Stay. He’s a snuggler and a lover, a tad willful but young and eager to please his people. He’s very treat motivated and will do well with consistent training. He does have a strong prey drive, so no cats or small animals. Keys is dog selective. He can benefit from consistent socialization with other people and animals outside of the immediate family as he does become protective of his family once he is bonded.”

Keys would love to have a home with active people, with kids and maybe another small dog to play with!

Breed: Siberian Husky - Shepherd Mix
   Gender: Female
Age: 1 yr. 11 mo.  Birthday: 4/2018 (est)
   Weight: Medium (30 - 60 pounds)
   Milo ID: 29772
   Current Location: Milo Point Richmond
A beautiful dog we offered to rescue on her last day at a shelter - then before we could get her to Milo she popped out three puppies! No one knew she was pregnant. but that is history now.

Shakira is an instinctual dog with just a bit of a wild edge. She is vocal and howls/talks. Very endearing. She is very bonding to her person, and her pack mates, thus we feel strongly she would do a lot better in a home with another dog, and are insisting on this for her. She is also very playful. Shakira is never going to be a "Happy-go-lucy dog approaching everyone she meets and soliciting attention. She plays hard to get and keeps at arms length most of the time. She has been fostered with a cat who does not run - and that works, but he is a very dog savvy, 18 pound Mainecoon, with skittish cats that run her prey drive would take hold - even when picking up a small dog her prey instinct ramps up - but she is a loving dog, just interested in everything.

She is a bit of a rascal, and a gymnast, also she has opened a gate, though just ran around with her pals and came back as her foster mom appeared! Naughty, and clever, but good!

Shakira sleeps on the bed, and likes to snuggle like she would with a pack mate more laying draped over you.... of course she gets pushed down on the bed and gets it. She shares affection well with the other dogs, dances and prances... she is a beauty and a sweetheart, but with a little wild and willful spice. Home alone will not be her thing - another dog will make it possible.

She will be a flight risk initially when going to a new home - it is IMPERATIVE that people are savvy and careful with her, if she gets out she will RUN!! $500 adoption fee.

Breed: Shepherd - Labrador Retriever Mix
   Gender: Male
Age: 11 mos.  Birthday: 4/2019 (est)
   Weight: Medium (30 - 60 pounds)
   Milo ID: 29754
   Current Location: Milo Point Richmond
Bex is a gorgeous, agile and strong dog, but thinks he is a lap dog. He is a total love who wants to snuggle. He will be your shadow and follow you around. Bex has A LOT of love to give.

Bex has gone through some training and is 95% potty trained with a cue ‘lets go pee’. When he can’t make it outside he will use a puppy pad in the home. He is leash trained, will wait for food upon command, sit, lay down and just started to shake with his paw. He loves chew bones and treats. He is VERY food motivated, and thus responds well to training. He is very good with his pack both adults and children. He doesn’t know how strong he is and can topple young kids in excitement so older children are a better fit.

However Bex is a special dog. He went through a significant fear imprint when he was 4-5 months old and was scared of everything. He was scared to go for walks, sounds of vehicles and even fire hydrants. He was especially scared of bigger dogs that looked like him. After training and with fear subsiding, he has gotten a lot better. Bex will do very well in a household with no other dogs and a fenced in yard. He needs to run! A household with young children is not recommended.

Bex comes with a 20 day get acquainted period with his adoption, time to adjust to his new surroundings. Please give time and patience to new adoptees, particularly dogs from the Milo Sanctuary.

   Name: OTTO
OTTO

Breed: Anatolian Shepherd - Great Pyrenees Mix
   Gender: Male
   Age: 3 yrs. 3 mo.  Birthday: 12/2016
   Weight: Extra-Large (over 90 pounds)
   Milo ID: 29596
   Current Location: Milo Point Richmond
A wonderful Milo adopter has generously donated half of Otto's adoption fee! His fee is now $250.

Otto is a big beauty of a boy. He is the classic big guardian breed, willing and compliant, stoic, serious and will guard you. He will greet you with tail wagging in his quietly jolly way. Guardian dogs are nocturnal, and tend to stay up at night and bark. It's their job to guard the sheep while the shepherd is sleeping.

No other small dogs in the home. We can dog test w/ your large dog if you bring them with you.

Otto is very sweet and mellow. He loves pets and attention. He is also intelligent and trainable, he knows a few commands like sit, down, back up and even knows to "speak". He is still working on his leash manners. He lived with 2 cats and had no issues, but he will chase squirrels any chance he gets! Otto sometimes will show leash aggression which only occurs during walks and with only some dogs. He will also bond with his person and this will bring out his guardian background. These behaviors can be corrected but he will need a dog savvy and committed person to reinforce this behavior. The nocturnal and guarding nature are typical of the breed and should be expected.

Otto needs a quiet home and would prefer to live with just one person, no children and no other dog or a dog his size. No small dogs. Otto needs a good size piece of land to roam and guard, with few cars going by. He's nocturnal (stays awake at night) and will bark. **His new person must be guardian dog savvy and have the time/patience it takes to continue his training.**

A wonderful Milo adopter has generously donated half of Otto's adoption fee! His fee is now $250.

   Name: YUBA
YUBA
More Photos
Breed: Labrador Retriever - German Shepherd Dog Mix
   Gender: Female
Age: 3 yrs. 1 mo.  Birthday: 2/2017 (est)
   Weight: Medium (30 - 60 pounds)
   Milo ID: 28847
   Current Location: Milo Point Richmond
Surrender notes: “Yuba is a beautiful labby mix who loves her family. She is a pleaser who responds well to treat training and LOVES to play fetch with a ball. She’s very cuddly at night and is always ready to play.

She does wonderfully in the crate, often going in on her own accord, and rides very well in a car. She will reward her owner with responsiveness to commands, eagerness to please and affection. She is house trained and generally very well behaved at home on her own but prefers to be with her owner as much as possible.

Yuba loves to run and is quite fast when given an open space to let loose. She would do best at a home where she can run in a fenced area, as she often out paces a person's running pace when given the opportunity. A home in a non urban area with land for her to run would be ideal. She hasn't been trained on an invisible fence but would likely do well with that option as well.

Yuba is an anxious dog that will need a patient owner who offers her a consistent, loving environment. Her anxiety and fear can complicate interactions with new people, animals and adverse situations and she has a tendency to apply this fear in protecting her owners. For this reason she will need a forever home that does not include small children or frequent new visitors. Yuba thrives in a steady peaceful environment that allows her a space of her own, such as a crate or cozy bed. She will really enjoy being as close to her parents as possible though, (bed/couch) if given permission.

Yuba is a wonderful, loving dog that will thrive in a home that can provide her the space to run, peace and quiet, love, patience and consistency she needs to bring out her best.”

   Name: MELODY
MAMA MELODY
More Photos
Breed: Labrador Retriever - American Staffordshire Terrier Mix
   Gender: Female
Age: 6 yrs. 1 mo.  Birthday: 2/2014 (est)
   Weight: Medium (30 - 60 pounds)
   Milo ID: 28707
   Current Location: Milo Point Richmond
**My adoption fee is one half off! Adoption fee: $200.**

Melody has it all and wants to share it with her forever family! This beautiful nugget of a dog is smart, affectionate, and great with teenagers (16 & up). Young, energetic, and people-oriented, she just wants to play the day away with her people in a yard or go walking on trails.

Melody needs a firm guardian and correction for he jumping and nipping she does - small little grabs at clothes and occasionally that tiny little bit of a pinch on skin - she can be an exuberant jumping bean! We have worked with her but it needs to continue - trying to crop her wings and keep her grounded is a fete!

Melody is not a dog park dog, she is an alpha dog, and a super physical player. She is best suited to being the only dog in a home and no cats or young children. She is happy to run and play in a yard; she loves treats and may do scent work – hide and seek…. She is best with stay at home folks with a big yard and as a running companion! This girl is a real go-getter like a big active lab crammed into a tidy little chunk of a body that’s bursting at the seams!

Because of her active nature, Melody will do best in an environment with a tall, secure fence. Her above average intelligence has led her to become a bit of an escape artist and she is adept at climbing fences and opening doors (but not to run away... just to be with you!). However, these tendencies are fixable since Melody is a good listener who is eager to please and very treat motivated. Melody understands hand signals and voice commands, she will stop any undesirable behavior with correction, and making the effort, providing consistency and enough exercise she will want to please!

If you think you are ready for a go-getter-girl like Melody, come meet her at Milo today!

**Melody's adoption fee is one half off! Adoption fee: $200. Melody comes with a 20 day get acquainted period with her adoption, time to adjust to her new surroundings. Please give time and patience to new adoptees, particularly dogs from the Milo Sanctuary.

**My adoption fee is one half off! Adoption fee: $200.**

Meet Bazinga! He is a blast and a half! He loves the outdoors and wants nothing more but for you to play ball with him. He would love a home where it’s in a rural setting because Bazinga would love a home with land where he can run and do his zoomies. A city based home will not be ideal for him. Bazinga loves people, and would need to go to an adult only home with owners who can provide the appropriate training and socialization. Bazinga will need to be in a home where there aren’t any cats, dogs and kids under the age of 18 as he can get over stimulated and be a bit much for some people. He does know his current name and has good recall. He walks well on leash with a harness as he is a strong boy!

Meet Phoebe! She is a sweet girl waiting for her forever home. Phoebe has been with us for a couple years now and is looking for that perfect household. She loves to play with balls, squeaky toys and rope toys. She loves making sure she is pleasing her people. She does bond to people with time and once that bond is there, nothing can take that away. She would love a home where her owners are dog savy people and know how to handle a dog that may need some work or a single owner would be best for her as well, as she can be a bit protective of her person.

Phoebe has had friends here at Milo but she is really dog selective and would rather be in a home where there aren’t any animals, big, small, reptiles etc. She would love a home in a rural setting as she may be distracted by small animals in a city based home. She will sun bathe outside for hours and come in for some snuggles and kisses.

Phoebe is a special girl here at Milo who has many advocates for her and we are all hoping for those perfect owners to bring Phoebe into their family forever <3 **My adoption fee has been sponsored by a Milo Staff member. Please stop by and meet me today!**
