   Breed: Pomeranian Mix
   Gender: Male
Age: 11 mos.  Birthday: 5/2018 (est)
Weight: Small (less than 30 pounds)
   Milo ID: 28932
   Current Location: The Milo Sanctuary
Little cutie from Berkeley Animal Services, now up here at the Milo Sanctuary due to having aggressive tendencies, possessiveness.... but people love him and he could go to a quiet adult only home where people won't invade his space, and can handle a quirky, nipping dog.

   Breed: Siberian Husky
   Gender: Male
   Age: 2 yrs. 1 mo.  Birthday: 3/2017
   Weight: Medium (30 - 60 pounds)
   Milo ID: 28921
   Current Location: The Milo Sanctuary
Max is a sweet, goofy, happy Husky boy. Very people and dog friendly. Here are notes from when he was surrendered, we only had space to squeeze him in at our Sanctuary, where he has space to romp - but he is ready for a loving, husky savvy home!

I adopted Max when his original owners were forced to return him to his breeder in October 2017 as they lost their home. Max is an intelligent, friendly husky with lots of energy. He isn't an escape artist nor a digger. I regret having to re-home him, but have no other option and want Max to have a good home.

Max is approximately 55 pounds and has no health issues. He loves people and is good with older children (energy level can be difficult for younger children). He can be food aggressive with other dogs (Though he is housed with Luna Husky at the Sanctuary and she keeps him in-line, but we imagine with a smaller dog he may bully for food, we have seen no food aggression from him.)

Max gets along well at dog parks. Max would be ideal for an individual or family with experience owning huskies. I was provided rabies vaccination documentation and AKC papers for by his original owners who got him from the breeders.

   Breed: Alaskan Malamute Mix
   Gender: Male
Age: 7 yrs. 5 mo.  Birthday: 11/2011 (est)
   Weight: Large (60 - 90 pounds)
   Milo ID: 28906
   Current Location: The Milo Sanctuary
Gazpacho sadly has tested postive for Heartworm so will need treatment - he is a fairly mellow charecter so the long stint of cage or room rest wont be so very difficult if he can just hangout, go to work, or just stay at home in a quiet area... Gorgonzola and Gazpacho lived together their whole lives and are both charming. Their person passed away and they ended up at the Clearlake Animal Services and as they are middle aged or senior - little chance did they have, which is crazy because these are lovely dogs, tail wagging, happy, solicitous of affection, silly, adorable and looking for love and playtime!

Once Gazpacho starts his HW treatment he will need to stay calm, keep his heart-rate low.... for a few months. he would love a home - adoptive or foster at least! Super sweet bog boy!

An ottoman of a dog, he has been loving cheese for too long perhaps! Gorgonzola and Gazpacho lived together their whole lives and are both charming. Lovely, attentive, sensitive girl - here with her sister/cousin/mother (?) who gave birth 3 days after arriving to our Sanctuary from Auburn. Helen's been handled roughly by other animals or something - one ear has quite a bit ripped off. Helen is a loyal dog who sticks right next to you. We're getting to know more about her!

   Age: 3 yrs.  Birthday: 3/2016

   Milo ID: 28902
   Current Location: The Milo Sanctuary
Moose is a sweet big boy, he's just arrived at our Sanctuary...Moose is a big Queensland - Border Collie cross breed. He loves to be with people and will be your shadow, he'll curl up in your lap if you are on the floor, he loves and craves affection from his people. Classic to his breed he LOVES to ride in the car and gets excited about it and jumps right in...he's an active boy.

Moose loves playing with toys and will bring them to other dogs to play chase and keep away. Playing in water, swimming, blowing bubbles in the water bowl, playing with the hose....

Moose knows basic commands (Sit, down, roll-over and speak!) He is hanging out with new friends at the Milo Sanctuary chilling out, as he has some anxiety issues from his first year in life... He's enjoying walks to the creek with dogs his size and smaller so far.

Breed: Labrador Retriever - German Shepherd Dog Mix
   Gender: Female
Age: 2 yrs. 1 mo.  Birthday: 2/2017 (est)
   Weight: Medium (30 - 60 pounds)
   Milo ID: 28847
   Current Location: The Milo Sanctuary
Surrender notes: “Yuba is a beautiful lab mix who loves her family. She is a pleaser who responds well to treat training and LOVES to play fetch with a ball. She’s very cuddly at night and is always ready to play.

She does wonderfully in the crate, often going in on her own accord, and rides very well in a car. She will reward her owner with responsiveness to commands, eagerness to please and affection. She is house trained and generally very well behaved at home on her own but prefers to be with her owner as much as possible.

Yuba loves to run and is quite fast when given an open space to let loose. She would do best at a home where she can run in a fenced area, as she often out paces a person's running pace when given the opportunity. A home in a non urban area with land for her to run would be ideal. She hasn't been trained on an invisible fence but would likely do well with that option as well.

Yuba is an anxious dog that will need a patient owner who offers her a consistent, loving environment. Her anxiety and fear can complicate interactions with new people, animals and adverse situations and she has a tendency to apply this fear in protecting her owners. For this reason she will need a forever home that does not include small children or frequent new visitors. Yuba thrives in a steady peaceful environment that allows her a space of her own, such as a crate or cozy bed. She will really enjoy being as close to her parents as possible though, (bed/couch) if given permission.

Yuba is a wonderful, loving dog that will thrive in a home that can provide her the space to run, peace and quiet, love, patience and consistency she needs to bring out her best.”

   Breed: Ragdoll
   Color:  Flame Point
   Gender: Female
Age: 1 yr. 1 mo.  Birthday: 2/2018 (est)
   Milo ID: 28807
   Current Location: The Milo Sanctuary
Phoenix is a gorgeous long haired flame-point boy with stunning blue eyes. We do not know much about his background except that he is from a hoarding situation. He is afraid of people so he may hiss at first, but once he gets to know you, he will let you pet him. He really needs an experienced cat person with patience and compassion to take him home and learn how to trust.

Phoenix is highly food motivated and this is a great way to build trust and a bond with him (he does LOVE wet food). His ideal home would be quiet and calm environment with no children.

   Breed: Great Pyrenees
   Gender: Female
Age: 1 yr. 1 mo.  Birthday: 3/2018 (est)
   Weight: Large (60 - 90 pounds)
   Milo ID: 28762
   Current Location: The Milo Sanctuary
Buttercup, and her sister Bubbles will be heading to Milo Pt Richmond and spay appointments Thursday 4-18. Available for adoption over the weekend, if not adopted they’ll head back up to our Sanctuary where they are very happy! They still struggle on leash.... but are super sweet girls!

They are such sweethearts, but as what too often is the case with Pyrs they have been neglected and underfed. Blossom clearly had more attention than the pups and likely they were her one and only litter, she is young and playful like them - in a mellow, Pyr-way. Blossom walks on leash, head and tail up....her kids, not so much.

Pyrs are a lot of love in a big package, and they have qualities and needs that need understanding. They need other animals, space, patient people...brushing! Do your homework before adding a Pyrenees to your home - but if you have the space and other mammals, time and the love to give - these are awesome girls!

$600 adoption fee.

* FOSTER NOTES *

Brewster is very smart. Training him in basic obedience was pretty easy but, as with all dogs, it takes constant reinforcement. He know sit, down, stay, heel and come. He knows to sit when I stop walking. When we’re home, he’s a complete couch potato, happy to sleep on his bed. He chooses to sleep in his crate rather than in bed with me. He’ll jump up on the bed when I’m in my bedroom but jumps off when I get settled. He will follow me from room to room but doesn’t pay much attention to me when he does. He isn’t demanding in terms of attention but loves his scratches. He loves playing with other dogs, particularly when they’re off leash. He also is friendly toward dogs when they both are on leash provided the \ other dog is friendly. This is true in matter the size of the other dog. He isn't very food motivated. When training him, I resorted to using cut up pieces of hotdogs. Usually I feed him a combination of wet and dry food, which he sometimes ignores for hours. When it’s just the two us or someone that Brewster knows well, he’s a sweet dog. Brewster can become protective of his person so ideally he'd go to a very rural / low key setting with not a lot going on.

HIGHWAY is lucky to be alive. Found injured and scraped up, he was taken into the vets in Merced through New Beginnings....he checked out okay with scrapes and cuts and bruising but seemingly no serious injury, then he got neutered....Highway is settling in, he needed a place to go. He may be a Milo Sanctuary candidate, we'll see!

**2/9/19 Return:
He was a good fit in the house. he wouldn't steal food of the counter- food sitting out on the table, he'd leave it alone. he stayed off the furniture and followed all house rules really quickly/ well. Didn't rush outdoors. he was "mouthy" which scared our younger child but always gentle. he was loving and warm, could curl up between my legs for a neck scratch. Loves neck scratches on both sides."

Gordy is a handsome smaller Shepherd type, he is good on leash, eager to please, relatively mellow and calm - a real charmer! He would need proper introductions with new people before they enter his home- as he can have some fear aggression/ protective instincts with strangers.

$450 adoption fee

   This dog has special needs.
   Milo ID: 28573
   Current Location: The Milo Sanctuary
**2/18/19 FOSTER NOTES:
Meet Maggie. Born in a backyard and fed by people throwing food over a fence to her and her parents, this little girl had none of the training and social interaction so important to a puppy for normal development. She had no human contact and so is emotionally unavailable to people. She is fostered with 2 adults and 3 dogs and has bonded with a one year old Doberman female who she follows everywhere. She has learned to play with the dogs in the house and is starting to play with toys. She will come when called but will not get close; on occasion she will take food handed to her. She is food motivated but struggles to overcome her fear of people even for that. She will go outside with the other dogs but has not learned to go potty there. She will occasionally use pads but is not remotely house trained. To take her out on leash, she must be caught and then it is a struggle. Here, we use a harness and a slip lead for a backup because were she to get away we might not get her back. We have had her for about a month and progress has been slow. Maggie is not keen on small dogs so should be in a home with dogs her own size.** 2/28/19 FOSTER NOTE Maggie continues to inch along socially and it should be pointed out that even with all her fear, she does not growl or snap. She is also very beautiful.
